First Movie.

Tuesday, my Mom and I took Jackson and Garrett to see their very first movie at a movie theatre.

Let me go ahead a admit - I was a bad mom and forgot my camera. However, I found my old camera in my car, but unfortunately it was just about dead. I was able to turn it on, and if I was lucky I could take one picture fast enough before it turned off. These pictures are not great, but at least I got SOMETHING before the camera shut off completely.

They loved the popcorn machine. Such a simple thing, but yet I believe this was their first time to ever see one. The worker even said "Is this their first movie?" I guess he could tell by how impressed they were with the popcorn machine.

We planned on getting to the movie after the previews since their attention spans are short, but we actually arrived before the previews even started. They both climbed into their chair like they do it all the time.

They really were more excited than this picture shows. Darn camera....

They both enjoyed it. Mom had to walk around with Garrett for a few minutes to give him a little break. Jackson did great other than wanting to be the narrator. "Hey there are 2 elephants!" No....you can't eat that tree!!" He wanted to tell us and the rest of the theatre what was happening. It was a kids movie, so I didn't feel too bad. Garrett really liked the stadium seating so he could see everyone and try to tell people "Hi!" That child is the biggest flirt!!

We only made it through about half the movie which was fine with us. We went for them to experience it which was accomplished!

A "Real" Big Boy Bed.

Jackson's bed arrived Friday!!

The bed was shipped from San Antonio, but I ordered his dresser online....so the dresser won't be delivered until August 11th (which I think is a little ridiculous since we ordered it July 12th....but whatever!) I am a little OCD, so having only part of his room complete is driving me nuts.
Telling Daddy how to take apart his crib -
Jackson likes telling his Daddy what to do....
I wonder where he gets that from?!?!
hmmmm.........

Garrett LOVES his brother's new bed!

Here's half of the room.....(actually less than 1/2)

I was on my way to bed the other night and couldn't find Rigley. He found a new spot to sleep -

First night in his new bed was a breeze....no problems at all!

How do they grow up so fast?? I seems like I just laid him down in his crib for the first time -

On a different note, Aaron and I have decided to put our house on the market. We have thought about doing this for awhile now, but never follow through with it. I just have issues with making our home a house.....taking down family pictures so a buyer can picture their own family in the home, removing some furniture pieces to feel more spacious, clearing off counters, storing some toys.....basically making our house cozy yet plain.
I know the "summer moving window" is coming to a close and the faster we can get it on the market the better. However, due to our location I feel there will be less potential buyers, so I just want everything to be perfect from the start. People could go right up the road and build a new home by our builder. We have things we have added to our house that gives us an advantage over building, so I want the inside to be clean and ORGANIZED like a new home would be......and that means down to the spice rack. Aaron made major fun of me for this, but I'm sorry....an organized spice rack and organized closets is a sign that the homeowner has taken great care of the house. Wouldn't you agree?

We are unsure where we want to move exactly. We have an idea, but nothing set in stone. Who knows if or when a "SOLD" sign will be going in our yard. We're not in a situation where we have to move, so we're not going to just give it away. My goal is to have the house ready and have the realtor come out after Jackson's dresser is delivered.
So.....know anyone who wants to move?! 1 acre, 4 bedroom, 2 bath.....it's a beauty....any takers?!?!?! If you mention this blog you will get $10 off at closing!!!!! :)

Fun Find Friday!

I could eat a whole bag of this stuff and still want more. Lots more. For breakfast, lunch, and dinner.....

If you like pickles, you MUST try their dill pickle flavored popcorn. It is delicious!!! I could eat a whole bag of this stuff and still want more. Lots more. For breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They have lots of unique flavors, but dill pickle wins my vote!

Click on the Popcorn Papa picture at the top to find their locations.

Thank you Sis for introducing this stuff to me!

Sunday

We had another great Sunday at Church. The boys both did great!

Since Garrett is in the major "Mama Mama Mama" stage, I worried how he would do. He does fine when I am out of site and nobody mentions my name. However, once reminded, you can count on lots of screaming and tears. Anyways, back to my point - when I handed Garrett off to the nursery, he cried some for Mama as we expected, but this time as Aaron and I were walking away the teacher asked "You have your parent pager, right?" Aaron and I laughed a little at the fact that they wanted to double check that we had the pager this time.

At pick up, it was the same as last time. We spotted him first. Garrett was playing with bubbles, he was very happy, and looking pretty darn cute! When he finally spotted us, bottom lip went out, and the tears started. It was a sweet little cry though.

Jackson loved his class once again. Sorry, let me correct myself - Jackson loved his classroom once again. At dinner tonight, we discussed church and I said something about having fun in class today. He laughed at me and said "No Mommy, it's not a class. It's a classROOM."

When we picked Jackson up from his classroom, they gave us a paper that tells us what he learned, questions we could ask him, a family activity to do at home, bible memory verse, etc. This week the focus was God helps us when we trust him. Tonight I asked Jackson, "What does God do?" Jackson replied with "He help me." Then he smiled, got a little excited, and said "OH!! He comes down our fireplace too!" I don't know where this came from. Perhaps Christmas and Santa were brought up in his class today, or that God is everywhere....who knows....but I thought it was pretty stinkin' cute!

Here are some random pictures from Shelly's house after church. -

Shelly bought these little Gatorades to have for the weekend we all helped moved them in. Jackson loves them and I think he will always expect Aunt Shelly to have them at her house.
Aunt Shelly + House = I get Gatorade

About to get kisses from Cooper!

Aaron is in love with the month of July. Blue Bell has his favorite flavor in July, Southern Blackberry Cobbler. I think he would enjoy it more if he got three bowls!!!

Jackson and Garrett wrestling -

I think they are ready for their first boy cousin to make his grand entrance next week!

Parent Approved Double Date!

We had a fun Saturday night! Kristin, Payton, Marla, Geoff, and Parker all came over for playtime and dinner. Here are some pictures -

Kristin was making Payton's bottle, so I told Jackson that we had to watch Payton. He's a good "watcher," don't you think?!

Kristin & Payton

I love Payton's chubby cheeks!!!

Parker, waiting for someone to take her on a ride -

Garrett, the child is fearless -

Parker, Jackson, Payton, and Garrett -

Garrett looks like a giant. I should have pulled him down some.

After Parker and Jackson's birthdays in September, we can say these kiddos are 0,1,2,3.

Here is where I told the boys to give the girls a kiss. Garrett didn't follow through, but Jackson....

....tried his very best to follow his mamma's orders. However, Parker remembered what her parents taught her about boys! :)

Garrett is currently going through a major "Mommy" phase. I watched Payton for a little while a few weeks ago and he didn't seem to mind me holding Payton. Tonight however, Garrett was a little jealous! He didn't object to it, he just wanted to lay in my arms as well.

I must share what we had for dessert. This is not a picture of my dessert. This picture came from the website I got the recipe from. I would have taken a picture, but at the moment, I didn't think risking my ice cream melting was worth it for a picture.

If you love Strawberry Shortcake, especially the one from The Cheesecake Factory, then you will love this!
