Jackson's Birthday Party

Here are some, well okay...lots, of pictures from Jackson's 2nd birthday party. There will still be more pictures coming from other cameras. And for the record, although Garrett did sleep for half of his brother's birthday party, he did attend....he is just not in these pictures for some reason.
A video of Jackson waking up on the morning of his birthday

I made everyone sing Happy Birthday two times! Jackson really enjoys the song! ;) Next year maybe we can sing it three times...

Seeing his swing set for the first time!

Here are some pictures from this morning. My little "OCD" child doesn't like the mulch in his shoes, so he has been wearing his cowboy boots while he plays. I guess we need to buy him some new shoes to play in!

Tomorrow BOTH boys are going to the doctor. Jackson for his 2 year check up and Garrett for his 6 month check up. This means double the shots and double the Tylenol at our house. Wish us luck!

What parents do when their kids go to bed...

Aaron was outside putting mulch in the playground, so I decided to take a swing!

Do you like our lovely window decor? Classy huh!?
P.S.
The mop had to go to time out tonight. I promise this was completely Jackson's idea!! It fell on his foot, made him cry, so Jackson decided it needed to go to time out. I was trying so hard not to laugh. I had to bite my bottom lip. The funny part is when Jackson gets out of time out, he has to give Aaron or I a hug and say "Sorry Mom" or "Sorry Dad." Jackson doesn't really know how to "switch rolls" yet (the mop should be telling Jackson sorry...if the mop could talk), so when the mop got out of time out Jackson said "Sor-ty Mop." I guess they are pals again.
I understand the mop's pain though. I also had to go to time out tonight. Jackson said I couldn't come to his birthday party, I pretended to cry, and he said "Time Out Mom." You have to be on your best behavior over here. He is strict!

Channel 4 Friday Morning!

Remember to set your DVR for channel 4 in the morning! They will be (should be) showing Jackson's picture for his birthday. They have been doing it around 8:15. :)
Fighting over a toy....
Garrett has started SCREAMING at Jackson when he takes a toy from him....a high pitch scream. Jackson has learned that if he takes a toy from Garrett, he has to bring him another toy. Garrett is trying to show Jackson that he means business!
Jackson eating with chop sticks at lunch today.

Jackson riding this cool scooter thing at a toy store at North Park. He loved it....
...and so did Aaron!

My dad was in the area and heard we were at North Park, so he surprised us!
Look at their arms holding on to each other - I love that!

This picture makes me laugh. It looks like Jackson is sad that Garrett is playing with his toys, but he really wasn't. He was just taking a break and watching Garrett play.

Since Garrett is sitting now, Jackson and Garrett are able to interact with each other more!! I love watching them play together! (I know I am using to word "love" a lot...but I just love it!)

6 Month Face?

What is with the 6 month face? When Jackson had his 6 month pictures taken, he made this face in lots of his pictures. Our photographer actually had this face in every scene that she took. She called it the "Bitter Beer Face." Garrett has just started making this same face....what is with this 6 month smile??

Meanwhile, we are stuck inside the house with all the blinds in the back of our house closed. When we ordered Jackson's swing/play set, we said we would like for it to be delivered and installed on Friday the 26th since his birthday is on Saturday the 27th. It is a gift from us, my parents, and Aaron's parents, so I don't want Jackson to see it until his party on Saturday. Well, the salesman talked us out of Friday. He said he doesn't like to do that due to weather. It could rain and they can't install it in the rain....which makes sense. So, he put us down for Tuesday - Thursday, made a note on the invoice to the people that install it that said "MUST BE INSTALLED BY FRIDAY. SON'S BIRTHDAY PRESENT." He said someone would call us that week to tell us what day and time for sure. Well....they called yesterday to tell me it was being delivered today, which is Tuesday. This is going to be a long week. They showed up this morning to set it up and I love it....only we can't let Jackson go in the backyard until Saturday....front yard only. I covered up the back windows with paper (the brown thick paper you put on your floor when painting a room...I can't think of the name) and all the blinds are shut. So far, Jackson just laughs at the windows. He thinks it is funny. It hasn't been a problem at all. He ran to the back door this morning when he heard the drills, but I just told him Daddy was tooting and he seemed to believe that - I wonder why?

Happy 30th Birthday Sis!

Happy 6 Months to Garrett!!
