Something must have been funny....
Savannah's nursery is purple, black, white and adorable!
Here is something I painted for her.
I will have to get some pictures of the whole nursery.
The shower is complete and now we wait for little baby Savannah to make her arrival!

Dominos?

Friday morning I had a lot of baking and things to prepare for my sister's baby shower on Saturday.  Jackson discovered a box of dominos, however being the horrible and busy mother that I was Friday morning, I couldn't sit down with him at that moment to teach him how to play.

As I was cooking, I realized the boys were being quiet, which normally isn't a good sign.

I found them in my parent's bathroom -

I guess the dominos reminded Jackson of a piano because that is what he turned them in to:

Such a perfect fit!

I love how kids naturally think outside of the box.

Our New House: Under Construction!

Permits have been pulled, on Tuesday we had our final "red line" meeting with our builder to confirm everything, and we were happy to see they broke ground Wednesday!

{He thinks he is in charge}
(Garrett was sleeping in the car)

When we drove by on Thursday, the forms were set...
Even though we were able to pick our lot and were aware that we would have a small front yard and a small backyard - seeing the forms set and actually seeing the size of the front and backyard kind of worries me.  Coming from an acre, we really didn't want much of a yard for many reasons.  Aaron told me it is small, but once the house is built and there isn't so much open space, it will seem a little bigger than I am expecting.

When I think of the big picture, the fact of the matter is - it is what it is and we will adjust!  It is easy to say "You should have got a bigger yard," but that is easier said than done when keeping all the other issues in mind.  Nonetheless, the positives still outweigh the negatives and we wouldn't change a thing!

{Jackson just hanging out in what will be his room}

I told Jackson to "say cheese!"
He said cheese, but for whatever reason he covered his ears at the same time.  :)

Aaron walked with Garrett to what will be his room....

Then Garrett thought he needed to be Mr. Independent....

He quickly realized that walking in mud wasn't as easy as it appeared to be....

"Hold you, Daddy!"
(He normally says "hold you" instead of "hold me." :)

Our house should be ready in 90 to 120 days.  If we have decent weather, it should be ready the middle of May, however if the weather doesn't corporate it could be the middle of June.  They broke ground the day before Aaron's birthday, so maybe we will move in on my birthday in May!

Happy 30th Birthday, Aaron.

Thirty kinds of wonderful
I am so grateful for the husband and the father that you are.  We started dating when you were 21 and today you turn 30.  I admire you for everything you have set your mind to and accomplished in your 20s.  You are truly an amazing husband, an amazing father, and an amazing man.

We have a little problem....

WE decided they would share a room while we are staying with my parents, THEY decided they would share a bed.

I put each of them down in their own bed, but when I close the door, they think they need to do things their way.

Why they picked Garrett's small toddler bed over Jackson's twin size bed......no idea.

They may have a hard time adjusting back to separate rooms at our new house!

Another Beautiful Day in Texas.

Our Day as it Snowed in Texas!

This is how I found Jackson when I woke up this morning, admiring the snow....
When Aaron got home from work this morning, he ran Jackson outside for a minute to throw a few snowballs.   Aaron then jumped in the shower. The whole time Aaron was in the shower Garrett was whining, "Help me throw snow toooooooo!" So, Aaron quickly ran back out with Garrett, which is why Aaron has on short sleeves....
The boys helped Pawpaw build a fire this morning and then I decided they could each build one of their own.
{a fire that is more on a 1 year old and 3 year old level}
After lunch {don't let Jackson's pajamas confuse you about the time of the day},
it was time for s'mores....

Garrett was a little unsure about the melted chocolate and sticky marshmallows on his hands.  He quickly discovered that he could just pick it off and eat it!
Thanks Dad for my burnt ones! Those are the best!
Walking in the snow for the first time in his life.... {I think}
Let me point out that we are about 60 miles east of Dallas, so we didn't get the thick, fluffy snow until later in the day.  Tomorrow morning I plan to take them back out and play in the fluffy, good stuff!
Snow on the ground road doesn't stop him from driving!
At this point in the day, the snow was too wet which made it hard to build a snowman.  I really had no clue what I was doing.....you can tell I have lived in Texas my whole life.
Garrett was ready to destroy....
Shaking hands....
Breaking an arm.....
Throwing snowballs at BamBam....
Time for hot chocolate...and more marshmallows.....
I used my edible markers to make Frosty the marshmallow...
To end the night - we were all standing at the back sliding glass door and I saw something in the backyard.  It took me a second to process what it was, it looked like a huge cat, but then I realized it was a red fox!!!  I yelled to everyone "RED FOX!!!  RED FOX!!!"  The fox heard me yell, looked up at the house, and quickly ran off!  It was so neat to see!
