Savannah's Mini-Vacation.

My sister had to go out of town this week for work, the lady that keeps Savannah went out of town this week as well, and of course my brother in law Ricky works....so my sweet little niece Savannah has had a mini-vacation at her Aunt Kelli and Uncle Aaron's house from Saturday to Wednesday!  She is the sweetest little thing!  So easy, laid back, sleeps from 8:30pm until 7:30am, loves watching Jackson and Garrett play....the perfect little baby!

I have only really taken pictures this week with my phone so that I can send them to my sister throughout the day, so I'm sorry about the poor quality of these pictures.  I really planned on taking somewhat good pictures of the 3 of them together, but for some reason I forget to do it throughout the day.....or don't have the motivation to do it throughout the day.....or one child is hungry....or tired....or stinky....or the boys want nothing to do with the camera...or nothing to do with each other.......the list goes on and on!  Maybe tomorrow!

Savannah in her jumper.
(Of course my sister has the child that FALLS ASLEEP in her jumper!  I ALWAYS wanted a kid like that.)
Savannah wakes up before the boys.  Every day when the boys wake up, the first thing they do is look for Savannah!  They each walk into kitchen with messy hair, holding their blanket, squinted eyes, and ask, "Where's baby girl Sa-bana?"   Here is Jackson telling Savannah good morning and asking her if she slept good last night.  They love each other!
I was making Jackson's bed and Jackson said "OH I KNOW!!!  Let's make a pallet with baby girl Sa-banan!!"
Here Jackson is telling her "Look Savannah, here are the toys you have to pick from - a bird, an elephant, a mirror, a turtle, a tire spinning thing.  They are all really fun, but if you don't like them, I am sorry, but you need to pick one, okay baby Sa-banana?"
Where is Garrett?!?!  He has been great with Savannah too, but for some reason I don't have many pictures with him.
After dinner tonight, Aaron took the boys to the pool and Savannah got to hang out with me while I did some things in the kitchen.  We had a nice talk.  I taught her how to make Zucchini Bread, I told her that her mommy is a great cook, but never eat anything she bakes (hahaha!!), I taught her my cleaning strategy for cleaning up the kitchen, I taught her why we must wash our hands after cracking eggs, I taught her what a 'big T' meant and what a 'little t' meant (I thought I needed to teach her that since she would never learn that at home....her mom just "eyeballs" it!;) I taught her some family cooking secrets (okay....so we don't have any..... I just made some things up!)  and I taught her much much more!  And if you can't tell, I was cracking myself up the whole time!  Doesn't having a baby in the kitchen make you feel like you have your own cooking show?  She was cooing at me and smiling, so I just kept talking away!

Cousin Lovin'

Saturday afternoon, the boys and I went to my sister's house for a little while to spend time with her and Savannah.  The boys really are very interested in her......
They were trying to entertain her with some toys.
I like Jackson's face in this one -
Jackson may like "Baby Girl Sa-banna" a little too much.  Today we were in the car and some how we got on the topic that Garrett is Jackson's baby brother.  I can't recall Jackson's exact words, but it was something like "I want there to be another baby that lives at our house."  I wanted to yell "ARE YOU KIDDING ME!?  ARE YOU CRAZY?!" but I calmly responded with, "Jackson, that would mean Mommy would have to have another baby.  The baby would grow in Mommy's tummy.....not Aunt M's tummy.  It would always be with us.  It would be your brother or sister, not your cousin.  It would cry during the middle of the night which would make it hard for you to sleep.  It would want to play with all of your toys.  Plus, our new house only has two kids rooms, so we don't really have room for another baby."

Thinking I said enough negatives to change his mind, he was quiet for a moment and said "If I have a baby sister, she can sleep in my sleeping bag."   I couldn't respond at this point.
We asked the boys if they wanted to hold Savannah.  They gladly accepted -

We really thought by Jackson holding Savannah with Garrett sitting next to him, Garrett would be satisfied and not want to actually hold her.  We were wrong.  As soon as we took Savannah from Jackson, Garrett put out his arms and said in his sweet little voice, "Me hold baby Sa-bana too?"

It's been awhile....

I am still alive.  Things have just been busy, therefore less time to blog!

We found out that we should close on our house April 29th or 30th....but no later than May 7th.   (I know that sounds funny, but those were the dates they gave me.)  I can't believe it.  It seems like it has gone by so fast.  I will love having our own home again, but I must admit....I think I may miss my parents a little!  Have you ever heard the country song that has the lyrics "Me and my husband, we need a wife...."  Well, sometimes I feel like having my mom around is like having an "extra wife."

Just simple things that make such a difference:
I cook dinner, then she does the dishes while I am give the boys a bath......
Two women in the house to clean and get things done around the house.....
If it is a day we are both home, and one boy wants to go to the store with me and the other one doesn't, then one will stay home with Mom while the other one goes with me.....
Waking up and the coffee is already made....
Still having a man at the house to do the "man jobs" if Aaron is gone to work......
Staying up late with mom and having a glass (or 2...) of wine!!  I will probably become a better blogger since I will go back to having no one to talk to on the nights Aaron has to work.

I will enjoy our family being back to normal, but at times I think I may kind of miss our "temporary normal."

Anyways, if anyone is interested in our old kitchen table, let me know.  The chair cushions probably need to be recovered, but I would be willing to recover them in a fabric of your choice if interested!

Introducing....

Savannah Anne
April 6, 2010
9:14am
7 pounds 15 ounces
19 1/4 inches
My sister's woke up a little after 5am on Tuesday morning to little cramps.  Shortly after, she realized her water broke and it was time!  She called Ricky, who had been working all night, told him she would just meet him at the hospital (HAHAHA!) but Ricky of course said "No, wait, I will be there shortly!"

My sister called my parents I woke up from deep sleep to my dad standing at our door saying "COME ON!  GET UP!  SIS IS IN LABOR!"  I jumped out of bed and we were all ready to leave in about 10 minutes....which explains my lack of beauty in the pictures!!  :)  Luckily Aaron had not been called to work yet, so he was able to stay home with the boys.
My sister arrived at the hospital in about 2 hours of her water breaking and she was already at a 4 or 5.  I was shocked!  Little Savannah was breech and arrived via c-section.  During the c-section, Sis heard the doctors tell Ricky to get his camera, so she assumed they must be starting.....little did she know they told him to get his camera because they were about to pull Savannah out.  She had no idea they had even started!

(These pictures were taken back in the recovery room.)
